The Chess-Set Carvers’ Showcase

At the Woodhaven Craft Fair, five carvers each unveiled a handmade chess set. Every set used a different wood, transformed the familiar chess pieces into a distinct theme, and surrounded the board with its own inlaid border pattern. The exhibit drew such a crowd that the placards were moved and returned to the wrong displays.
