Color illustration of five early twentieth-century clockmakers making final adjustments to five different restored clocks in a sunlit town square shortly before noon.

Five Minutes Before Noon

Five restored timepieces were arranged around the town square for a special concert accompanying the noon bell. Each clockmaker was responsible for one timepiece, using a different tool to make a final adjustment and testing a different chime. With only five minutes remaining, the square filled with ticking gears, ringing bells, and hurried instructions as the clockmakers worked to ensure every chime sounded in the proper sequence. Use the clues to determine which timepiece each clockmaker restored, which adjustment tool was used, and which chime each one tested.
